Feed a kiwi chick for a year

Feed a kiwi chick for a year and help them reach the weight and size they need to be released back into the native environment. 

The team at the National Kiwi Hatchery have collaborated with researchers at Massey University to create the perfect meal for a kiwi chick.

Known as 'Mrs Miggin's Meatloaf', the main component is beef heart combined with wheatgerm, rolled oats, fresh fruit, vegetables and some vitamins and minerals. Every day, we measure the food out in the correct proportion for each kiwi chick and carefully monitor how much each chick eats.
