Rainbow Springs has supported the Kiwi Hatchery from the very beginning providing the buildings and site for the Hatchery. Rainbow Springs also run all of our guided National Kiwi Hatchery Tours and then donate the ticket price to the Hatchery. Mercury support the Hatchery through providing solar panels and backup battery power for our incubators. This is crucial in providing the incubators with secure electricity in case of a power outage, ensuring we can keep the incubators going and the kiwi eggs warm. Mercury also sponsor the Kiwi Intensive Care Unit. Mercury gifted the ICU building and helped us establish this on site.

Kiwis For Kiwi are the largest kiwi not for profit in New Zealand and support the Hatchery through funding our work. Kiwis for Kiwi provided the brooder container that has allowed the Hatchery to expand capacity by an extra 50 chicks each year. The Hatchery collaborates with Kiwis for Kiwi on many projects such as the ‘Egg Candling’ and ‘Kiwi Best Practice’ training sessions for New Zealand’s zoo and wildlife centre staff who work with kiwi.
